It’s quarter finals day at this weeks two ATP 500 Tournaments in Basel, Switzerland and Vienna, Austria. In Basel, top seed Federer is still on track to win a record tenth title and his task was made easier when compatriot and seventh seed Wawrinka withdrew injured before their scheduled encounter today. Sixth seed Goffin lost yesterday against giant 6ft 11” American Opelka, but fourth seed Bautista Agut made the quarter finals, beating fellow veteran Gasquet in an entertaining three set battle.

Third seed and top ten-star Tsitsipas, faces fifth seed Krajinovic today for a place in the semi-finals and if he’s successful it will set up a potential classic encounter with Federer for a place in Sunday’s final. Bautista Agut faces American Opelka today and the Spanish veteran will hope for a repeat of his straight sets win against the American at Beijing last month.

In Vienna, top seed and home favourite Thiem is still on track to win his home title for the first time and he faces Spaniard Carreno-Busta for the seventh time. Thiem leads the head-to-head 6-0 and he will hope for a repeat of his recent straight sets win at the Shanghai Masters 1000 Series earlier this month. Second seed Khachanov is still in action, he faces fifth seed Schwartzman today for the third time and the head-to-head stands at one all. Third seed Berrettini faces Russian and Moscow winner Rublev today, the talented Italian leads the head-to-head 2-1 and he will hope for a repeat of his straight sets win at the 2019 US Open last month. Finally, fourth seed Monfils faces qualifier Bedene from Slovenia for the first time.
