PGA Tour

Well we certainly weren’t unlucky last week in the golf but three of our golfers played really well, Kaymer had one bad round and finished 8th whilst in America, Noren played some good golf to finish - 17 but that was only good enough for a tie for 14th. Noren is certainly one to watch in the next few weeks. Westwood also showed a new level of calmness, and if he plays like that, he could win again this season.

Farmers Insurance Open

Torrey Pines San Diego

Justin Rose won last year by two shots from Adam Scott. Including Rose, four of the last five winners of this event were Non-American, Jason Day twice and Jon Rahm. The previous twelve winners were all American, Tiger Woods winning it six of those times, having won it once before that in 1999. With Tiger again in the line-up, there will be huge media attention and as we have seen in the past, it would be foolish to write him off this week, in a tournament he has made his own.

European Tour

Omega Dubai Desert Classic

Emirates Golf Club Dubai

The defending champion is Bryson DeChambeau who won by seven shots last year from Matt Wallace. Three of the four previous winners were major winners and players of the calibre of Henrik Stenson, Rafael Cabrera-Bello and Alex Noren have finished runner-up. Accuracy off the tee is important with the need to find the fairways to ensure control into the greens.
