The first half of the 2019/2020 UEFA Champions’ League Group stage qualification stage was completed last night, and reigning champions Liverpool ended up winning Group E by one point from runners-up Napoli thanks to a 0-2 win at third-place Salzburg who qualify for the Europa League. Chelsea scraped through as runners-up of Group H by one point behind Valencia from Ajax thanks to a 2-1 home win against Lille. Elsewhere, Barcelona won Group F, Dortmund were runners-up and Inter qualified for the Europa League and RB Leipzig won Group G, Lyon were runners-up and Benfica qualified for the Europa League.


The completion of the UEFA Champions League Group stage comes to an end tonight and Spurs and Manchester City have thankfully already qualified from Group B and C. Spurs are in action away at group leaders Bayern Munich and City are in action against third placed Zagreb in Croatia.
