Liverpool had to sacrifice their EFL League Cup quarter-final last night in favour of the FIFA World Club World Cup that takes place tonight against Mexican champions Monterey.

Liverpool fielded they’re under 23 squad against a full strength Aston Villa at Villa Park and the Villains took full advantage thrashing Liverpool 5-0. The EFL League Cup quarter-finals action continues tonight; the match of the night is between a resurgent Everton and Premier League second place Leicester City at Goodison, reigning champions Manchester City face a tricky trip to League One Oxford United and finally, Manchester United face League Two Colchester at Old Trafford.
